CASA Of Carson City will hold an Information Hour, September 12, at 5:30pm. 1539 E. Fifth St. This informal event is a change for anyone who might be thinking about becoming a CASA Volunteer to stop by, ask questions and learn more.
CASA Volunteers are appointed by the Carson City Juvenile Court to serve as guardian ad litem--child advocate--for children taken into care due to abuse or neglect.
The CASA speaks up in Court and in the system for children during the course of a child welfare case--often lasting a year or more. Being a CASA volunteer requires patience, caring, research, communication, computer skills, writing, follow-through and hanging-in-there.
For more information on CASA see www.casaofcc.org or email casaofcc@earthlink.net The Information Hour on September 12 will be held at 1539 E. Fifth St., corner of Saliman and Fifth streets, in Carson City.
