At last Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon, Carson City Library Director Tod Colegrove gave attendees a cook's tour of how things work behind the scenes at the city's public library.
Time constraints precluded a full blown conversation about what roles the library might be able to play in the community now and in the future, so this Monday will be Part 2 of that conversation. Attendees are encouraged to think outside the box and be prepared to expound upon those ideas during the tele-luncheon. Dr. Colegrove is eager to hear what creative new ideas might be out there.
Dr. Colgrove holds a doctorate and masters in physics, as well as a masters of library and information science with concentration in competitive intelligence and knowledge management. He previously held the top job at Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records, and before that was director of the internationally recognized DeLaMare Science & Engineering Library at the University of Nevada Reno. An emeritus professor, he served on the faculty of UNR's Physics department and Honors College. He also has fourteen years of entrepreneurial experience in computer systems administration and the telecommunications industry.
Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, this event is scheduled for noon on Monday, November 30th, and will be held online via Zoom teleconference due to the restricted availability of in-person venues. Those wishing to be on distribution for these Zoom links can email Rich Dunn, Men's Committee Events Coordinator, at richdunn@aol.com.
