A 36-year-old woman was arrested at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 8, at the intersection of Reeves and South Edmonds in Carson City. She faces misdemeanor charges of failure to comply and domestic battery after allegedly hitting the victim with barbecue tongs causing him to bleed.
According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the area in reference of a past domestic battery. Officers made contact with the woman who stated she was involved in a verbal dispute with the father of her children. The woman said that during the dispute she swung a set a barbecue tongs at the man. She stated she was not sure but believed she may have struck the man.
Deputies spoke with the man who said that the woman hit him with the barbecue tongs, striking him on his left forearm. There was a slight injury to the forearm and it appeared to be bleeding, the arrest report states. Two witnesses said they observed the woman swinging the barbecue tongs, hitting the man with them. Bail: $4,067.
— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at 3:58 p.m. Oct. 8 in the 1000 block of Latigo Drive. She faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to an apartment and met with the woman who had numerous scratches on her neck. She said she was in an argument with her 13-year-old sister who she lives with.
The woman told officers the she pushed the 13-year-old after telling her to get off the computer. The 13-year-old said her sister then hit her in the face and choked her, though officers could not find any evidence of strangulation, according to the arrest report. There was slight swelling under her left eye. The woman said the 13-year-old held her by her hair and punched her in the face.
the juvenile and the 20-year-old were both determined to be primary physical aggressors. Bail for the woman: $3,132.
— A 35-year-old Reno man was arrested at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 4300 block of North Carson Street. The man, acting erratically, told police someone was trying to kill him. He stated he had used meth earlier and didn't like the way it made him feel, offering that he preferred cocaine. He faces a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. Bail: $242.
— An Arleta, Calif., man was booked into Carson City Jail Oct. 8, 12:35 p.m. on a June 29, 2012 contempt of court warrant charge out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
